Hoonah is known for cool summers, mild winters and moderate to heavy year-round precipitation.

Average summer temperatures range from 40 F to the mid 60's F and from 20 F to 40 F in the winter.

 

Because the weather can change so quickly people dress in layers. Casual, comfortable clothing, walking shoes and waterproof outerwear are appropriate year round!

DAYLIGHT

Hoonah has up to 19 hours of daylight during the summer months and as few as 6 hours during the winter.

 

TIME ZONE

Hoonah is in the Alaska Time Zone which is one hour earlier than Pacific Time and four hours earlier than Eastern Time.
